Bald Eagle-

Liberty, as Neal names it, was a fledgling bald eagle that fell out of a tree. Her wing was severely hurt and she would not stand up. After much coaxing, she finally stood up, the same day that they would have to euthanize her. Later, she is trained to be an animal ambassador for Jackie's Wild Seattle by Neal and Tyler. She will go to classrooms and teach about animals and the program.

Beaver-

In the story, Cody likes a beaver. He names it Chuckie. When Cody asks what is wrong with him Jackie replies, "He's an orphan, that's all. Some homeowners didn't like it that beavers moved into their stream and started taking down their trees. When they killed the beavers, this little guy was overlooked..."

Border Collie-

Sage, the rescue dog, is a border collie. Sage goes along with Neal, Cody and Shannon and helps sniff out and find animals. She also has a 'flak jacket' for dangerous cases. This jacket will protect her from an attack.

Coyote-

In Jackie's Wild Seattle, there is a coyote who got trapped in an elevator. Shannon was picked to do this rescue, and had to go inside the elevator, with the doors closed and with the coyote. At first, the coyote was completely scared of her, but after talking to it, Shannon was able to do the rescue successfully.

Deer-

In Jackie's Wild Seattle, there is a pregnant deer who got hit by a car. Bad things like this happen to deer a lot these days. The mother deer did not make it, but thanks to Tyler, the baby deer made it into this world alive. Pay attention when your driving, and less s like this will happen to ALL animals.

Raccoon-

A mammal with gray fur, and a white and gray striped tail, they often look like bandits or robbers. The code word for raccoon is 'Tidnab', or bandit spelled backwards. Shannon, Cody, and Neal rescued a raccoon from underneath a man's porch. He had taken a hockey stick and broken it's back.

Raven-

In the book there is a raven named "Kickstand". A raven is a black bird that is only slightly larger than a crow. He was found with his leg caught in a trap that was probably meant for a rabit, or some other small animal. Unfortunately, his leg had to be amputated, which probably made walking again very difficult. Cody named him 'Kickstand' because of his stumped leg.

Seal-

A mammal that lives near water. Shannon encounters a baby seal caught near high tide. She has to rappel down a cliff to get the baby seal. It is so weak and hurt. Unfortunately, on the drive to a vet the poor seal pup did not make it.
